Our short, but SCARY hospital stay

Well, as most of you know we went to Disney World for our vacation. The week before we left Berklie had a little spot on her hinnie that I went to get checked out. Come to find out it was a staph infection, and the doctor put her on medicine asap....that was on Monday. As of Wednesday it looked AWFUL, so I took her back to the doctor. The doctor was shocked at how bad it had gotten, so he told me he would be right back. He returned to the room and proceeded to say, "I am sending you over to the hospital to have a surgery. Don't worry, the surgeon is great! She'll meet you over at the hospital and she'll get Berklie better in no time." Well, as you can imagine all sorts of things started running around in my head...holy crap...I can't believe how bad it is...oh no, Flint's in Lubbock...poor thing...how is she even walking?!?!?!? So, after my little freak out and panic....I went over to the hospital, and the surgeon met Berklie and I in the lobby to get us registered. Once that was over she took us into a room and looked Berklie over. She said it did look really bad, but she knew she could take care of it and get all the infection out. So.....Berklie and I waited until she was able to get into surgery. She couldn't go in until she had not eaten for six hours. Man...I thought it was going to be a LONG few hours because she was in pain, she was getting hungry, and had no toys. Much to my surprise, she did really well! I got her a ($5) balloon at the gift shop and it occupied her for a good while! Flint rushed in from Lubbock to be with us as soon as he could and mom and dad came in, too. They wheeled Berklie back and I got to ride in the bed with her. It was neat because when we turned the corner I saw the same anistesologist that gave me my spinal was going to be her doctor as well. It was awful when they took her away!!!! It seriously was the worse thing that I have ever had to do! But, she was back in no time and good as new! She was a little cranky, but I expected that. They had her on a strong dose of meds ever 6 hours through iv. They had to come in the first night and redo her iv two times! They ended up having to stick her 6 times! I had to hold her down and it was awful! We got through it and we got out of the hospital on Saturday. We saw the doctor again on Monday, and she sent us over tot he surgeon. The doctor said that it didn't feel right to her. Of course....I was scared once again, but we got to the surgeon and she said it looked great and cleared her to go to Disney World! Thank you all so much for all the prayers for Berklie! Hopefully, we will not have to go through it again anytime soon. Look at her cute little pics from the hospital. WARNING - a couple of them are gross, but the rest are cute!

GYMNASTICS!!!!! FUN - FUN!!!!

So, we were trying to find something for Berklie to get some of her energy out and interact with other kids her age, and I found this gymnastics class for toddlers and their parents. We thought Hailey might enjoy something to do, as well, so we took her to a class for girls her age. They both had a great time, and I think we are going to enroll each of them in the classes full time. It was so much fun to watch them have FUN. Berklie didn't feel to well, so I think she might have more fun next time. Have fun looking at the pictures that Lexi graciously took! Thanks, Lex!

Excited to leave to go to their first gymnastics class!

Awe.....how cute are these two?!?!?!

One of the first things they did was go to the trampoline. I do have to say that Berklie was the most physically advanced one in her class. I am sure that you will be able to tell that in the following pics.
(Here she was told to jump with her hands on her head.)

Then she was told to jump with her hands on her belly.

Hailey stretching.

Good form.

Hailey with the back bend.

At least one other little girl running around at this point.

Doing her flip.....we were suppose to be sitting down singing the wheels on the bus.

Wow! She was following directions her. You go girl!

Good job Hailey!

Look at all the other children being calm and following directions. Yeppers...Berklie was having none of that. I think she thought...."Why are we sitting down...let's get movin' people!" LOL!

Hailey doing a front flip.

Once again...Berklie running around like a CRAZY ANIMAL!

Hailey doing a back flip.

Salute!

Hailey on the beam.

Does it look like she had fun?

Hailey's 6th B-Day

Well, Hailey is now the big 6! She had a great time at her party getting lots of presents and having lots of fun with her friends and family. Enjoy the pics from the party and HAPPY BDAY HAILEY! WE LOVE YOU :-)~

Modeling her swim suit!

How adorable is she????

As you can tell...her suit is a bit big.

She loves the water!

Berklie got a turn, too. She actually did pretty well.

Justin's Graduation

Well, last night was Justin's graduation! He finished 7th in his class, was a distinguished grad, Texas Scholar, National Honor Society, and PALs student. He received a $60K scholarship to Baylor and also the athletic scholarship from the Quinlan Athletic Boosters. I think he has decided to go to UTA where he is going to try to play baseball. As for now, he is still undecided in his major.....he has thrown around pre-med, education, engineering, etc. So, we'll see what his future holds. He is an extremely bright man so we all know he will go far! We are very proud of him!

p.s. Sorry I don't have any pics of the actual ceremony. Flint and I had to be on the floor with the graduates because we were class sponsors. I even got to lead in the class because I was teacher of the year. LOL! I will try to get pics from Susan and post them.

Pictures of the family after graduation where we ate dinner.

Catching up!

I have a lot of catching up to do, so here we go. First we have Justin's Spring Sports Banquet. He received 1st team all-district pitcher and the athletic scholarship from our athletic boosters. Next, we have Berklie in her big-girl panties, then Justin's last baseball game. Then we have Justin's prom pics....thank goodness that is over....lots of planning! Next, the trip to Beaver's Bend State Park in Oklahoma with the Science Club, and lastly, Kaytlin's prom. Whoaaaaa.....it has been a hectic spring! Also, Lexi messed up her knee in one of her AAU basketball games. She has surgery on May 25th to reconstruct her knee. She has a torn ACL, MCL, and LCL, so just keep her in your prayers. Hopefully, she will be able to play six months after her surgery. Justin graduates on June 4th and Hailey turns 6 on June 5th. June 16 - 23 we go to Disney World with Flint's parents and the kids, and in July Berklie turns 2! Can you believe it....doesn't seem right. She is growing up wayyyyy to fast! So, there is much more craziness to come, but hopefully I can stay caught up on posting! Enjoy all the pics!

Justin and Flint at the sports banquet.

Family pic. Awful of me (I was in mid-talk. LOL), but everyone else looks nice.

Justin receiving his scholarship.

We had to keep Berklie occupied with some balloons.

The baseball team.

Mimi and Papa got Berklie some big-girl panties. They have Tinkerbell and all of her friends on them. She did well in them for a while that night, she had to try all of them on of course. Then I look over and she tinkled in the floor....fun times. Needless to say, we are going to work hard on potty training when we get back from vacation.

Justin with Larry and Susan before Justin's last high school game.

Justin pitched and caught at his last game.

Parent's Night was also at the last game.

Waiting. I thought these both were pretty neat pics.

Justin on deck.

Family pic after Justin's last game.

The next three pics are pretty funny! There was some smoke in the air from the grill, so we got creative! LOL!

Next up, Justin's prom.

Justin and his girlfriend, Halee.

Justin with one of his best friends, Mary.

These are all of my PALs that were at the same place taking pics. I was wanting to get another pic of everyone at prom, I just never got around to it.

The favors.

Justin with Lexi.

Justin was up from Prom King, but didn't get it. Here are all the nominees for King and Queen.

The decorations walking into our prom.

Me and Flint. We got to chaperon, because we are both senior sponsors.
I didn't have time to do my hair because I was finishing up the picture back drop. Oh well, I guess i could have looked worse....lol!

Flint with Justin's best friend, Patrick.

Now on to the science club trip to Oklahoma.

Sooooo...this was mine and Flint's cabin. I was not expecting it to be so simple, but it got the job done. We at least had beds and air conditioning. LOL! I love being outside and out doorsies, but I have never been camping....it wasn't too bad, so we'll probably go again.

There were over 50 kids that went on the trip. This was all of us at lunch the day we came home.

Our handsome bus driver.

The visitors center in the park.

Now...Kaytlin's prom.
I went over to Vicki and Thomas's to do hair and makeup for the girls and Vickie.
We all had a good time and I think everyone liked their hair and makeup.

I did Vickie's hair and makeup. One hot momma!!!
She and Thomas go every year to the prom because Thomas is President of the school board.

Kaytlin and her boyfriend, Charley.

I did Kaytlin's makeup, too. She went and got her hair done though.
Beautiful!

This is Kaytlin's friend, Crystal. I did her hair and makeup.
She and Kaytlin are such pretty girls, that it made my job much easier!

They got the "Best-Looking" couple at prom.
It's that cool?!?!?!

Their prom theme was "Lost at Sea" - doesn't she look like a mermaid?!?!?!

Pretty girl!
