Berklie's New Toy

Berklie got a little spoiled over the weekend with a few new toys. First off, Mimi and Papa came in to town and bought her a Little People "carnival" set. It is so cute! It has a working ferris wheel, a popcorn stand, and a game stand with two little people. Then later on that day we had a birthday party to go to and on the way Flint spotted a garage sale that had a lot of nice kid toys....so I said we would stop on our way back if they were still there. Well on the way back, they were still there. So keeping my promise, I stopped and took a look. I found a cute Little People jungle set with all the animals included and an adorable doll house. Both were in good shape and I asked the lady how much she wanted for each and she said $1o for both...heck yeah!!!! SOLD! So I brought them home, cleaned them up, and off she went. She seriously has not stopped playing with everything since she got them! Then at Wal Mart today, I had to get her some accessories for the house....come on...you can't have a house without furniture and dolls!!! Needless to say, she thought the furniture was the bees knees! End of the story....Berklie Faith will not be getting any little surprises for a while....or at least until her birthday! :-)~ Enjoy the pics!

Brayden's bday and Easter 2011

We traveled to Houston for Brayden Man's 3rd Birthday with the family at the beginning of April. It was a blast! Brayden and Berklie fight like cats and dogs, but ever time they leave each other they cry...then they won't stop asking about each other until the next time they see one another and then they start it all over again. The entire family was in for the party, and it was great fun. The weather was perfect!

Next on to Easter. We had the kids this Easter, so on Saturday we took Hailey and Berklie to the Easter Egg Hunt at our church. Man....did they take the lute! Later that afternoon I had a shoot in Dallas, so Flint and the kids hung out at the house and his parents. Sunday we all got up and got dressed in our Sunday best and went to celebrate at church. After the beautiful sermon at church, we went home to change and then headed to Flint's parents house for Easter lunch. All in all it was a great Easter spent with family and friends. We are back. Much has happened to the Bigham Family since spring break, and just think to all my teacher friends and family....ONLY 30 MORE DAYS OF SCHOOL!!!! Berklie is growing like a weed, and she will be 3 before I know. I can't believe she is only 2 years away from going to school! Berfore we know it she'll be off to college! People told me that it would go by quick, but man....who knew! Prom was last weekend for Quinlan and a couple of friends of mine from school went to see a couple of or kids go. They of course were adorable and we all had a great time! Flint fell at school in athletics yesterday, dislocated his shoulder, fractured his scapula, and broke his humeral bone....hopefully he doesn't have to have surgery. He goes to see the ortho soon, so I'll update. It definitely has not been a good year for accidents in our household with Berklie's staph surgery, Alexi's knee surgery, my hernia surgery, Justin's elbow surgery, and now Flint's accident....we can't catch a break! Then when we got home yesterday from getting Flint' x-rays... I broke my toe...lol...all you can do is laugh! Berklie got her hair cut today! It is soooooooooo cute! I love it! The cosmetology teacher at school cut it. Brayden's birthday party is this weekend, and Berklie is looking forward to it. That is all she has talked for weeks, so when I got sick and tired of hearing about it that we made a countdown list with dry erase marker on our bathroom mirror. So,every night before she takes a shower she erases a mark! It is really funny! Everyday she learns/comes up with something new...she is way too smart for her own good! Hopefully this is not a sign of how her teenage years will be.....oh my goodness....stressful!!!!! She is so precious and I love her so much! God blessed me in many ways, but she is definitely the most precious blessings of my life! I love her so much....yes...yes...she does wears me out....but I still love her beyond belief! Enough of my motherly/stressed out/exhausted rambling...enjoy the pics! Sorry about not rotating them...need to get Berk to bed :-D

sidenote:> Berklie wanted to get her face painted at the aquarium and we ran out of time. The Beginning of Spring Break 2011

Well, spring break is almost over...H-U-G-E SIGH!!! Time certainly flies when you're having fun! Berklie and I headed down to Houston for the first part of Spring Break. We had Lil' Baby Te's baby shower on Saturday, and Berklie and Brayden hung out with Amby and Brad. Then on Sunday, Amby and Brad took us to the Downtown Aquarium for a day filled with fun and adventure! The kids had a blast looking at the fish and riding all the rides. On Monday it was raining so off to mall to let the kids play instead of the park. After that we headed home dropped off the kids with Brad for a nap, then Amby and I were off to get pedicures and some sister time! Ten shiny pink toes and ten zebra toes later we were back home and Brad cooked out for us all......steak....baked potatoes....and beer....yum! There is nothing like the Houston RODEO and that where we were off to on Tuesday! Tons of fun, carnival food, rides, face painting and we're back home! Tomorrow we are all off to mom and dad's house in Oakwood to visit with my dad's cousin and his wife from Pennsylvania! It should be a great time catching up! To all of my teacher family and friends, try to enjoy the rest of your spring break! Just think...only two and a half more months and we're out for SUMMER!!!! YEA!!!!!! I know....I know...it's been a while....to make you even more mad....I have no pictures to post. i have some, just not with me. I am at school benchmarking and we are finished. I have to let everyone know that I am so excited for Spring Break! I need a break!! I'll try to post pictures of our snow day and of spring break later on. Happy New Year to all of you bloggers! Our New Year's eve was pretty low key, we had a couple of friends over and just watched football, ate, visited, and the kids played. The Bigham's 2010 was pretty exciting! Flint got a new job, I had hernia surgery, Justin graduated, started college and playing college baseball, Lexi had ACL surgery and started driving, Braughn turned 13 and started playing junior high sports, Hailey started loosing her teeth and started 1st grade, and Berklie turned 2 and also had surgery for her staph infection! We also went on our family vacation to Walt Disney World with Flint's side of the family, dad and Flint's football teams made it to the playoffs, and Berklie was potty trained by her 2nd bday and off her paci about two weeks later! Ton of things going on and we had a blessed year in 2010. We hope that many blessings come to you and your families in 2011! Happy New Year!

Well, Christmas has come, gone, and will be back again in no time at all! The Bigham Bunch had a busy and fun filled Christmas Break! First, we headed off to Mimi and Papa's house to celebrated with my huge side of the family! I swear it gets bigger every year, but heck...the more the merrier! We all had a blast and the kids got to play as we all enjoyed watching them. Next stop was the candle light service at church, then to Grandma and Grandpa's house to have Christmas with Flint's brother and his family. Next morning....SANTA and toys, then back to Grandpa and Grandma's house for Christmas lunch, snacking, and dinner. I am truly thankful for all of my family! The Christmas season just helps remind me, how blessed and thankful I am! Merry Christmas and Happy New year to everyone! There are a ton of pics, so enjoy!

She was sitting with me and it was on the shelf beside us and she pressed it's ear....she then FREAKED OUT! Literally she was hysterical! This is Flint and Justin about ten minuets later trying to get her to play with it.

Christmas Parade

Today was the Christmas parade in Quinlan, and the Special Olympics always has a float in it. This year the parade theme was "A Candy Coated Christmas". The kids helped us with the decorations and organizing it as well. They did a great job and our float came in 2nd in our category! I absolutely love my kiddos and the people I work with. They all make it easier to get up and go to work each morning! We start Special Olympics Basketball this year and the kids are really excited! We have already competed in bowling, and the kids did great! We do track and field in the spring, too! Enjoy the pics and Merry Christmas!!!!

Well, since it has been over a month and I feel like the shock has passed, I decided to post the pics from my 30th birthday dinner! Just kidding....there was no shock....I was actually a little excited to turn 30....the reason for the post now is that I just got the pics. My camera died that night before I got to take some shots, but Sara had her awesome phone and took these for me! Thanks for sending them! I had a blast that night! It was very low key, but perfect none the less! I thought that i wanted to have this huge party, but once I really thought about it I just wanted something a little quiet with my closest friends. Sara, Barb, and Kristin were great troopers and made the trek in to Dallas, Mary and Shannon came, my friend Natalie, and a couple of my friends from school Sue and her husband Robert, and Lynda and her boyfriend James. We ate at Primo's in Rockwall, and despite the reviews I had read, it was actually quite nice. The food was good, prices were good, and the margaritas were even better! Flint surprised me with one of the best gifts that I have gotten in a long time....he got me a James Avery "Mother's Love" necklace. It is so beautiful, and a total surprise! I have it on in the pics if you want to take a look. I just want to thank all of my friends that made it out to spend the night with my as I celebrated a milestone! I love each and every one of you so much! I seriously have the best friends that a girl could wish for! I was disappointed my family couldn't make it, but maybe for the big 4-0! Enjoy the pics.

Yes....she got into my RED lipstick! I heard crying and Flint and I went running in the bathroom. She was crying on the floor and holding her head. I looked down and said, "Oh my goodness, she's bleeding! " Then I realized it was lipstick! She dropped the tube of lipstick in the bath tub got in to get it out, climb out of the bath tub and feel and bumped her head.
Only my kiddo, right?!?!?! Don't worry, she's fine! There was no water in the tub, just was clumsy climbing back out.
At least she knew where the lipstick goes...not to bad for a two year old! I do have to say she LOVES make-up! Who knew....I guess she is my daughter after all! I love you Berklie Faith - thanks for the good laugh tonight! MUAH! xoxox - Momma

WOWZERS!!!! So...I got my hair cut the other day, and then last night I got a wild hair....so I decided to dye my hair. I loaded up Berklie went to Wal Mart and got a "Dark Rich Auburn"...
I DON'T THINK SO!!!! What the crap?!?!?! LOL!!!! Seriously all I could do is laugh. I walked into the living room, and Flint asked if I could go to school with it that color! I said I don't know...I might get sent to ISS. LOL! Needless to say, I got and gave many good laughs today at school. An ARD meeting was hilarious due to me...at lunch I got a few looks...and my kids....yes they laughed too! Some of the kids out in gen ed actually liked it...really?!?!? Are we looking at the same person. Who knows...it has grown on me through the day, but I believe I will be dyeing it DARK BROWN tonight!!!! LOL! Hope I was able to add a little laughter to your day! :-P

My Sweet Fluttering Fairy

Well, after much thought and deliberation, I finally bought Berklie's Halloween costume. I first had in my mind that I was going to make her a Cookie Monster costume, but I never got around to it and couldn't have had it finished in time to make her Halloween cards. Then I saw the cutest little piggy costume, but it was a little pricey for a one time wear. Then I remembered seeing a cute little fairy costume at Gymboree, so I went back and they still had it....but this time it was on SALE!!! EVEN BETTER! So, I bought it and she will now be a fairy for her third Halloween after successfully being the cutest little pumpkin at 3 months old and bumble bee at 15 months old, you have ever seen! She looks super cute and she LOVES the fairy outfit, so I am sure it will go in the dress up box and get worn several more times which is great. So, enjoy the pics and Halloween cards are going out soon!

Things have been yet again chaotic at the Bigham household. I have a hernia from lifting one of the kids at school and have to have surgery. Flint's back has not gotten any better...he is still in a lot of pain. Berklie got a ringworm...yes...I know gross ....and yes....I did freak out about it a little bit. Oh well, she's a kid and kids get that kind of stuff! She is much better now thanks to the miracle med that the doc gave us! Justin's has something wrong with his elbow (a really long name I can't spell) and has had to sit out of baseball practice for the last week and a half and going to therapy, but he is doing better now too. I am sure there has been more stuff happen that I can't exactly think of right now, so here are some random pics for you to enjoy that I have taken over the last couple of weeks. Berklie has been so good lately and she loves being outside, so I told her I'd take her to the park. I have been wanting to start taking her on a regular basis, but it has been sooooo hot here! But today the weather was PERFECT! It felt like a wonderful fall day! So, after breakfast and a relaxing day around the house we loaded up and went to the park. She had a blast and I had a great time watching her! Hopefully with the weather getting cooler we can start going more often. Enjoy the pics!

Family Day at SAU

Yesterday we went to the "big town" of Magnolia, Arkansas to see Justin and go to the Southern Arkansas University Family Day. The drive there was awful it rained the entire time, but once we got there the weather cleared up and we had a good time. Berklie got to see her Bubba, so she was super happy! She loved playing in his room and jumping on his tall bed. She got to play ping pong with bubba and meet some of his friends, too. She got the best view of the bed races which was on top of Justin's shoulders! Justin is doing well in college and baseball, but we all miss him very much!

Little Miss Berklie

I entered Berklie into a local pageant in Crandall, Texas....The Little Miss Cotton Festival Pageant. It was something small and cute that I thought we might have fun doing together. We did! IT was a lot of fun even though the venue was outside and it was HOT and HUMID!!!!! It felt like Houston! Anyways, here is a run down of the day....

-Wake up 6:30
-I woke Berklie up at 7:30 and she was in an AWFUL mood! (Not a good start)
-Gave her breakfast and a shower and got clothes on her (still acting AWFUL!)
- Got everything loaded into the car and took off.
-Stopped at Sonic to get tots (thought this might get her in a better mood and it did!) Yea!
-Got to the pageant by 9:00 and got her signed in and changed her in the car
-Running behind schedule and tons of people there and HOTTTTT!
-Lexi, Hailey, Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Vickie arrive (after driving forever to find parking)
-Bathroom run
-Mimi arrives (after also trying to find parking....I found her one...in front of a fire spout...oh well, so she parked there.)
- Go back in move towards the stage and get started.....FINALLY!
-Get lined up
-Go across the stage
-Exit
-Go eat
-Go home (take a short nap)
-Go back for crowning
-Leave crowning and help a lady that was having a possible heat stroke by our car
-Came home showered, and now posting, and cleaning
-Whew!

While we were in line, Berklie started acting up again.....can you blame her?!?!?! It was soooo hot. Finally, they call her name and she goes on stage. Grandma, Lexi and Hailey were in front of the stage, and Aunt Vickie and Mimi were on the other side where she would walk across to. So...we're up....thank goodness she started acting better once she saw the little girl in line in front of her go on the stage....
Next we have Berklie Faith Bigham....I start off holding her hand and she quickly pulls away, does a twirl, and goes to the "x" (people got to practice on stage, but I opted against it...really she needs to practice???? this isn't the Miss America Pageant....was my thought....)
I then direct her to the next "x" in front of the judges...she gets there waves and I tell her to blow them a kiss and she does! They smiled and awed. Then we go to the last "x" and walk back across the stage. Well....at least that is what we were suppose to do...instead Berklie takes off running for the front of the stage...I grab her pick her up and she starts to cry....she didn't want to get off....I guess she's a natural for the stage....lol.
Later that day was the crowning and she didn't get anything which is fine as long as she had fun. Who knows if we'll do another, but she looked so cute and did a great job that probably she will! I do have to say that there was some High Glitz girls there and that is CRAZY!!!! You people that watch Toddlers and Tiaras know what I'm talking about! Enjoy the pics!

Her scores were 6 for poise, 5 for attire, 5 for attitude, and 9 for beauty! Not too bad for her first time and no practice with the "x's"...lol!

P.S. Thanks Mimi for the cute dress! Thanks for all the family coming to support, too! Berklie loves y'all so much!

Homecoming Queen Kaytlin

Last night Berklie and I went to Ferris' Homecoming, and my sweet niece Kaytlin was a Queen nominee. We first went to her volleyball game (which they won in 3) and then we went to help her get ready in the locker room. She only had 15 minutes to get ready, so I did her hair while she did her make-up! She of course turned out as beautiful as ever! Then we were off to the football field. After the stress drive (just to get across the street) she arrived, got in line, and just in time for her name to be called about 10 minutes later. Her dad escorted her out and we were all there to support her. After all the nominees were called, the queen was announced....and your 2010 Ferris Homecoming Queen is Kaytlin Griffith! She looked so beautiful and she truly is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the out. We love you and congrats!

What, are you serious, school is starting already?!?!?! The Bigham Bunch had a great summer, but it seemed to FFFFLLLLLLYYYYYY by! The first day of inservice was today, and I have to say I was dreading it. It is going to be so awkward not having Flint on the same campus.... in the same district for that matter. For the last four years Flint and I have had lunch together everyday....so it is going to be a little weird this year in that realm, too. I almost cried in one of our meetings today, because I am so use to seeing his name next to mine on all the paperwork, that when I didn't see it...I guess it kind of hit me...wow, he really is not going to be here. I know I sound like a whiner, but it really was fun to have each other on the same campus. When I tell most people that we worked together and ate lunch together everyday they would comment..."Don't ya'll get tired of each other...that would drive me crazy...I could never work with my spouse." I loved it! I guess because I rarely see him during football season it was nice to have that time together. It was also great to have someone to go and vent to, talk to, get a smile from when I was having one of those bad days. I do have some great friends that I work with that hopefully will make my year more bearable, as well as, my sweet kiddos that I work with. So...let's just pray that this year ZOOMS by like summer did, and maybe Flint and I will end up at the same school next year....until then...I am just going to make the best of it and TRY to be positive, I know God has a reason for me to be where I am at! To all my teacher family and friends - Have a great school year!

Houston Visit, Girls Night, and PARTIES!

This last month has been extremely busy for the Bigham Bunch! Flint has gone to coaching school in San Antonio, and when he was there Bitty Girl and I went to Houston to spend time with Amby and Brayden. The kids had a blast playing with each other and Amby and I had a great time hanging out and catching up with one another. We took the kids to see Despicable Me, and to the Houston Zoo where we met up with Barb, Chloe and Caroline. It was great to see them and all the kids had a great time, yet the adults were A LOT HOT! I had forgotten how humid Houston was....but I certainly remember NOW! After we got home, then all the party playing was on. Berklie's bday dinner on the 21st with Braughn's bball game that night, her party was the 24th, then Gehrig's was the 31st...then that night I met up with the Tarkington girls for dinner and a catch up, and then Berklie's friend Alex was on the 1st. Sooooo....we have been busy! Here are some pics to let you in our hectic life! Enjoy! 2 year old pics

So, Berklie's second birthday has come and gone, and it just doesn't seem like she should be 2!!! It seems like just yesterday I was pregnant with her. She has accomplished A TON of stuff this summer! Here are just a few things -

1. She is potty trained! YEA!!!!

2. It has been 3 days since she has had her paci! (For those of you who know Berklie, you also know that she is VERY....VERY....VERY.... attached to her "Papi"! So, this is a HUGE...HUGE step for her!)

3. She can ride her tricycle that mimi and papa got her for her bday.

4. She has gotten a "little better" about not throwing fits.

5. She still climbs on EVERYTHING! The higher the better. (She is climbing on the end table as I type, and just jumped off onto the love seat....my child...got to love her!)

6. Can count to 10.

7. Can say her ABC's.

8. Knows all of her colors.

9. Knows several songs - Twinkle, twinkle. If your happy and you know it. Old McDonald, The Choo-Choo Soul abc song, etc.

10. She is now in her "Big-Girl" bed.

11. Has discovered the TV! She LOVES the Mickey Mouse Club, Dora the Explorer, and Yo Gabba Gabba!

At her two year check it, she was in tip top shape! The doctor was impressed with her vocabulary and her knowledge of everything. When I told her that she knows her ABC's, can count to 10, knows her colors and all of her body parts, she said, "That is wonderful. You're telling me what most moms tell me at the 4 year check up." I thought to myself WOW!!! I knew she was smart, but I thought that was just me being partial because she's mine. But, I guess not! So, hopefully she'll keep progressing intellectually and physically, and be a smart, healthy, beautiful girl! At her check up her stats were:

Height - 36 in. - 96th percentile (That's already 3 feet tall!!!! Crazy!)

Weight - 26.8 lbs - 50th percentile

Head Circumference - 80th percentile (she still needs to grow into it a little...lol.)

Everyone always thinks she is older than what she is, because of her height and her vocab. Gets kind of annoying when I say she is only two, and they so now way. Yes way people....lol! She's just a tall smart baby.

Berklie's Hospital Visit

Well, as most of you know we went to Disney World for our vacation. The week before we left Berklie had a little spot on her little bo -hinnie that I went to get checked out. Come to find out it was a staph infection, and the doctor put her on medicine asap....that was on Monday. As of Thursday it looked AWFUL, so I took her back to the doctor. The doctor was shocked at how bad it had gotten, so he told me he would be right back. He returned to the room and proceeded to say, "I am sending you over to the hospital to have a surgery. Don't worry, the surgeon is great! She'll meet you over at the hospital and she'll get Berklie better in no time." Well, as you can imagine all sorts of things started running around in my head...holy crap...I can't believe how bad it is...oh no, Flint's in Lubbock...poor thing...how is she even walking?!?!?!? So, after my little freak out and panic....I went over to the hospital, and the surgeon met Berklie and I in the lobby to get us registered. Once that was over she took us into a room and looked Berklie over. She said it did look really bad, but she knew she could take care of it and get all the infection out. So.....Berklie and I waited until she was able to get into surgery. She couldn't go in until she had not eaten for six hours. Man...I thought it was going to be a LONG few hours because she was in pain, she was getting hungry, and had no toys. Much to my surprise, she did really well! I got her a ($5) balloon at the gift shop and it occupied her for a good while! Flint rushed in from Lubbock to be with us as soon as he could and mom and dad came in, too. They wheeled Berklie back and I got to ride in the bed with her. It was neat because when we turned the corner I saw the same anastiologist that gave me my spinal was going to be her doctor as well. It was awful when they took her away!!!! It seriously was the worse thing that I have ever had to do! But, she was back in no time and good as new! She was a little cranky, but I expected that. They had her on a strong dose of meds ever 6 hours through iv. They had to come in the first night and redo her iv two times! They ended up having to stick her 6 times! I had to hold her down and it was awful! We got through it and we got out of the hospital on Saturday. We saw the doctor again on Monday, and she sent us over tot he surgeon. The doctor said that it didn't feel right to her. Of course....I was scared once again, but we got to the surgeon and she said it looked great and cleared her to go to Disney World! Thank you all so much for all the prayers for Berklie ! Hopefully, we will not have to go through it again anytime soon. Look at her cute little pics from the hospital. All of the pics are from my phone, so the rotation is weird. warning...the first two are NOT cute, but I just wanted you to see how bad it got in a matter of two days. Sorry.

Right after they brought her to me. She had finally calmed down a little once I held her.

They tried to stick her iv in her hand first while she was under, but they couldn't find a vein, so had to put it in her foot.

The iv came out of her foot the first night, so they ended up FINALLY getting it in her hand. She ripped it out, then they had to put it in again. The nurse called the doctor and the doctor told her to put a diaper on it. Needless to say, it amused Berklie and she didn't try to yank out her iv anymore.

This was certainly the most scary thing I have ever been through! My dad's open heart was awful and scary, but mom was right....she has always told us that when you have children it is different. Well, I agree totally with her. I would have done anything to switch places with her! I am just glad that she is better and hopefully won't remember ANYTHING about this experience! She has a little scare to show for it, but other than that she is great now! Once again thank you ALL for all of the prayers! I have the best family and friends anyone could ever ask for!

Disney World Vacation

We are back from our vacation! Flint's parents took all of the families (ours and his brother's) on a 7 day vacation to Florida to go to Walt Disney World. So, I have secretly wanted to go to WDW ever since I can remember! I was so excited and so were all the kids and Flint...well, Flint was a little. He is a homebody, but once he got there he had a lot of fun. We went to all the different parks - day 1 we went to Epcot, 2 to Magic Kingdom, 3 to Hollywood Studios, 4 to Animal Kingdom, day 5 back to Epcot (this is the day the Flint and I took Hailey and Berklie to have lunch with the princesses), and day 6 we all loaded up to make the drive to Cocoa Beach. Each day we would ask Berklie where she wanted to go and she would say to see Mickey Mouse. She loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, so she knew a lot of the characters at the parks. It truly is one of the happiest places on earth! I felt like a little kids again! I would love to go back when she gets older and can get into it a little more. I think everyone had a great time, but I think everyone was also ready to get home. It was a once and a life time experience and I am grateful that we all got to share it together! Thanks Grandpa and Grandma for taking us all - it was a blast! There are a lot of pictures to document our trip, so enjoy!

I went in and saw this with Berklie, Hailey and Catherine, and it was so cute! This was the first 3D movie that Berklie has seen and she was so cute. She tried to reach out and touch the characters.

She was the character that I really wanted to see. We were walking in Epcot through the United Kingdom and I looked over and saw her! Awesome! She was going on break, but we were the first ones to see her when she got back. We waited about 20 minutes for her.

When we first got the the lunch with the princesses, the girls got a picture with Belle. Then our waitress brought the pictures over to the girls and told them it was a gift from Belle. It was cute!

Our short, but SCARY hospital stay

Well, as most of you know we went to Disney World for our vacation. The week before we left Berklie had a little spot on her hinnie that I went to get checked out. Come to find out it was a staph infection, and the doctor put her on medicine asap....that was on Monday. As of Wednesday it looked AWFUL, so I took her back to the doctor. The doctor was shocked at how bad it had gotten, so he told me he would be right back. He returned to the room and proceeded to say, "I am sending you over to the hospital to have a surgery. Don't worry, the surgeon is great! She'll meet you over at the hospital and she'll get Berklie better in no time." Well, as you can imagine all sorts of things started running around in my head...holy crap...I can't believe how bad it is...oh no, Flint's in Lubbock...poor thing...how is she even walking?!?!?!? So, after my little freak out and panic....I went over to the hospital, and the surgeon met Berklie and I in the lobby to get us registered. Once that was over she took us into a room and looked Berklie over. She said it did look really bad, but she knew she could take care of it and get all the infection out. So.....Berklie and I waited until she was able to get into surgery. She couldn't go in until she had not eaten for six hours. Man...I thought it was going to be a LONG few hours because she was in pain, she was getting hungry, and had no toys. Much to my surprise, she did really well! I got her a ($5) balloon at the gift shop and it occupied her for a good while! Flint rushed in from Lubbock to be with us as soon as he could and mom and dad came in, too. They wheeled Berklie back and I got to ride in the bed with her. It was neat because when we turned the corner I saw the same anistesologist that gave me my spinal was going to be her doctor as well. It was awful when they took her away!!!! It seriously was the worse thing that I have ever had to do! But, she was back in no time and good as new! She was a little cranky, but I expected that. They had her on a strong dose of meds ever 6 hours through iv. They had to come in the first night and redo her iv two times! They ended up having to stick her 6 times! I had to hold her down and it was awful! We got through it and we got out of the hospital on Saturday. We saw the doctor again on Monday, and she sent us over tot he surgeon. The doctor said that it didn't feel right to her. Of course....I was scared once again, but we got to the surgeon and she said it looked great and cleared her to go to Disney World! Thank you all so much for all the prayers for Berklie! Hopefully, we will not have to go through it again anytime soon. Look at her cute little pics from the hospital. WARNING - a couple of them are gross, but the rest are cute!

GYMNASTICS!!!!! FUN - FUN!!!!

So, we were trying to find something for Berklie to get some of her energy out and interact with other kids her age, and I found this gymnastics class for toddlers and their parents. We thought Hailey might enjoy something to do, as well, so we took her to a class for girls her age. They both had a great time, and I think we are going to enroll each of them in the classes full time. It was so much fun to watch them have FUN. Berklie didn't feel to well, so I think she might have more fun next time. Have fun looking at the pictures that Lexi graciously took! Thanks, Lex!

Justin's Graduation

Well, last night was Justin's graduation! He finished 7th in his class, was a distinguished grad, Texas Scholar, National Honor Society, and PALs student. He received a $60K scholarship to Baylor and also the athletic scholarship from the Quinlan Athletic Boosters. I think he has decided to go to UTA where he is going to try to play baseball. As for now, he is still undecided in his major.....he has thrown around pre-med, education, engineering, etc. So, we'll see what his future holds. He is an extremely bright man so we all know he will go far! We are very proud of him!

p.s. Sorry I don't have any pics of the actual ceremony. Flint and I had to be on the floor with the graduates because we were class sponsors. I even got to lead in the class because I was teacher of the year. LOL! I will try to get pics from Susan and post them.

I have a lot of catching up to do, so here we go. First we have Justin's Spring Sports Banquet. He received 1st team all-district pitcher and the athletic scholarship from our athletic boosters. Next, we have Berklie in her big-girl panties, then Justin's last baseball game. Then we have Justin's prom pics....thank goodness that is over....lots of planning! Next, the trip to Beaver's Bend State Park in Oklahoma with the Science Club, and lastly, Kaytlin's prom. Whoaaaaa.....it has been a hectic spring! Also, Lexi messed up her knee in one of her AAU basketball games. She has surgery on May 25th to reconstruct her knee. She has a torn ACL, MCL, and LCL, so just keep her in your prayers. Hopefully, she will be able to play six months after her surgery. Justin graduates on June 4th and Hailey turns 6 on June 5th. June 16 - 23 we go to Disney World with Flint's parents and the kids, and in July Berklie turns 2! Can you believe it....doesn't seem right. She is growing up wayyyyy to fast! So, there is much more craziness to come, but hopefully I can stay caught up on posting! Enjoy all the pics!

Sooooo...this was mine and Flint's cabin. I was not expecting it to be so simple, but it got the job done. We at least had beds and air conditioning. LOL! I love being outside and out doorsies, but I have never been camping....it wasn't too bad, so we'll probably go again.

Happy 2nd Birthday Bitty Boy Brayden!

Berklie, Justin, Halee (Justin's girlfriend), and I made the trip down 45 to Houston for Brayden Samuel's 2nd Birthday! All of the kids had so much fun and played so well together. We got to see the entire family because it was Dad's real birthday yesterday, so everyone came in to celebrate and have a cook out last night after the party. Kristin and the boys got to come to the party, too. Barb and the girls were going to come but got sick the all the stuff going around, so we missed them. Amby and Brad moved into their new house about a month ago and it is so pretty. I am so happy for them! They got a huge bounce house for the kids to play in at the party and they have an awesome swing set in their backyard too. There was so much for the kiddos to play with that all of them went none stop for 6 hours! Especially Berklie and Brayden! They were so tired by bath and bed time. There was plenty of cupcakes and birthday cake for everyone and it was delicious! Everything was great and we had a blast! We got up this morning and help set up Brayden's trampoline that he got. Once everything was set up the first people on it was.....guess who....Brayden and Berklie! They had the most fun! Thank you Amby for having us and Happy Happy Birthday to Brayden!
